- Property information: property address, quick reference ID, property details
- Payment information: credit/debit card details (processed and stored securely by Stripe; we only retain the card brand and last four digits)
- Appeal information: dispute grounds, uploaded evidence (photos, documents), electronic signatures
- Communications: messages sent through the platform, contact form submissions
Information collected automatically:
- Device and browser information (browser type, operating system)
- IP address (collected during electronic signature for legal compliance)
- Pages visited and actions taken within the Service
- Usage data collected via Google Analytics (see Section 7)
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7)
Information from third parties:
- Property assessment data, tax records, and property details from county government websites (e.g., taxbill.jocogov.org and ims.jocogov.org)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the Service, including generating appeal documents and researching comparable properties
- Process payments through Stripe
- Assign and manage agents for agent-assisted cases
- Communicate with you about your cases, deadlines, and account
- Send service-related notifications (case updates, deadline reminders, document availability)
- Improve and maintain the Service
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect against fraud and unauthorized access
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Agents: For agent-assisted cases, your property information and case details are shared with the assigned real estate professional handling your appeal.
- Payment processor: Stripe receives your payment information to process transactions. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
- Government entities: Your property information and appeal documents are submitted to the applicable county (Johnson County or Wyandotte County) and/or the Kansas Board of Tax Appeals as part of the appeal process — this is the core function of the Service.
- Analytics provider: Google receives anonymized usage data through Google Analytics. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and case records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal and business purposes. Specifically:
- Account data: Retained until you request deletion
- Case records and documents: Retained for 7 years after case closure (for tax and legal compliance)
- Payment records: Retained as required by financial regulations
- Automatically collected data: Retained for up to 2 years

6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
